Non destructive entry comes first wherever it is possible, so the door and the lock stay as they are and you are not paying for a new one. Where drilling is the only route, we tell you before we set off.
Some locks cannot be opened without damage, such as a lock that has failed inside or some high security cylinders. When that is the case you are told before anyone travels, rather than on the doorstep once someone is standing there.
A lockout opened without damage is £95 by day, £130 in the evening and at weekends and £150 at night. If the lock has to be drilled or snapped, it is the same price plus the new cylinder: £25 for a standard euro cylinder or £60 for a TS007 3 star anti snap one.
Either way you know the full figure before we set off, so there is no surprise at the door.
